BLB Rawlings Unknown Japan All-Star Series Ball

About the Ball: A rare, undated ball with a Japan All-Star Series Logo. It is not known whether these were used as actual game balls during one of the Japan All-Star Series, or if they are just prototypes.

We've now seen 4 of these, all within the last year (2011). They came new in marked Rawlings boxes. The Japan All-Star Series took place in some form from 1986-2006, (skipping the 1994 strike year) but all baseballs from the series have dated logos.

The official league stamping, with facsimile Allan H. Selig signature is on the ball. This official stamping first started on the 2000 Japan All-Star Series Baseballs, to the best of our knowledge. Prior to 2000 the Series was named the Japan All-Star Tour.
